This beautiful geode comes from ancient volcanic deposits found in western Utah near the town of Dugway. The layered bands are formed from agate, and the center crystals are quartz in a rhyolite matrix. The front of this piece has been cut and polished while the sides have been left in the stones natural state. The bottom of the specimen has been cut so that it stands freely on its own. In the center of this piece are the beautiful natural quartz crystals which have a light blue and purple hue.
