Sulfur Crystals

This bright yellow stair-step specimen of crystalline Sulfur comes from Baja California, in Mexico. Sulfur is an element on the periodic table which can crystallize naturally without the addition of any other elements. It usually occurs as sulfides (pyrite, galena, etc.) and sulfate minerals, not as often in its pure native form. Typically, Sulfur forms in powdery yellow coatings or in masses rather than individual crystals like these, making this specimen even more special! This would be considered a "Native Element", meaning it is Sulfur crystallized in its native form.

Approx: 3" H x 2.75" W x 1.5" D
