Fossilized Pecten Shells Display

When you can't be at the beach, bring the beach to you. An ancient beach that is! There are bivalve shells galore on this incredible display piece from the Miocene period approximately 20 million years ago. Pecten shell fossils and small gastropods were washed into a sandy beach and locked in geologic time. The sandstone matrix is full of smaller shell fossils. You'll feel like you're walking along the beach while looking at this beautiful specimen from France.
