This beautiful brown and white polished agate obelisk comes from southern Brazil. Agate is a variety of silica with cryptocrystalline (very tiny) quartz crystals. The agates formed within air pockets of hardened lava. Silica rich fluids flowed through these air pockets and began to cool and harden. Layer upon layer of silica built up within the pocket, creating beautiful bands of the mineral Agate. The stone has been cut and polished on all sides to a high gloss finish. Energetically, Agate is thought to be a strengthening and stabilizing stone. This obelisk would make a beautiful paperweight or a pretty addition to a shelf.
Approx. 1.5" L x 1.5" W x 4.5" H
