The perfect purple geode in a soft archway formation. This bright amethyst specimen was found in Uruguay. Amethyst forms within air pockets of volcanic rock. Silica rich fluids flowed through these air pockets and began to cool and harden into quartz crystals. Through natural processes within the earth, small concentrations of iron present in the quartz turned the amethyst its beautiful purple color. This piece has a natural stone crystal cluster front, lightly polished sides, and a cut base so that it stands freely on its own.
Approx. 4" L x 2" W x 4" H
