If you're looking for an absolute show stopper of a fossil, this is it. Ammolite is already very rare, but this piece is a phenomenal collectors item. The colors on this iridescent ammonite shell are out of this world, especially considering that it is approximately 70 million years old. It has so many gorgeous greens, oranges, reds, yellows and even some blues (the most rare of the colors). The gem quality of the stone has earned its own gemstone classification as Ammolite. This incredible natural occurrence is a a result of mineralization during the fossilization process. Found in Alberta, Canada, this exceptionally high quality specimen sometimes referred to as "Dragonskin" has been lightly polished with a cut base that stands for a beautiful display piece.
Approx. 4.25"H x 1.1"W x 2.5"L
