Copper Float Specimen

Keep your papers and your shelves from floating away with this beautiful piece of copper from Michigan. The term float copper comes not from the weight but from the process by which the copper was deposited. Glacial activity once present in Michigan caused the native copper to be picked up, floated along with the glacier, tumbled and compressed. Long exposure to water caused this piece to oxidize green. One side has been polished to expose the original copper underneath.

Approx. 5.5" L x 1.5" W x 4.75" H
