This striking geometric form is a solid cube of pyrite. Mined in Navajun, Spain, pyrite cubes of this size are unusual from other locations. This specimen of pyrite has not been carved or polished, as the pyrite forms natural in a cubic shape. The incredible shape comes as a result of the pyrite's chemistry. On an atomic level, the structure forms as a cube and continues to exhibit this shape as it grows. The gray marl (clay and lime) rock matrix has been chipped away to display the perfectly formed cubes of pyrite. The cubes themselves are completely natural, this one even comes with a couple mini's that grew off of the main cube!
Approx. 2.5" L x 2" W x 2" H
