A stunning ammonite fossil that is also large and in charge! This piece has incredible dendritic suture patterns on the shell. The rich caramel tones make the perfect contrast to the natural cream colored markings on the shell. This ammonite even has some buddies along for the geologic ride. Over time, the hollow parts of the shell infilled with sediment, bringing along a few clam shell fossils. This species of ammonite is a Perisphinctes, and was thriving during the Jurassic Period approximately 160 million years ago. From Madagascar.
