An incredible specimen of large blue Kyanite crystal blades from the famous Minas Gerais region of Brazil. Kyanite forms within metamorphic rocks undergoing high heats and pressures within the Earth. This mineral is easily identified by its long and pronounced crystal blades and distinct blue color. Sometimes this mineral undergoes additional pressure within the Earth, creating beautiful swooping shapes like that displayed here. Light white and gray Muscovite crystals can also be seen shining throughout this piece.
