A geologic show-stopper and true rarity, this alluring specimen of pink raspberry Calcite with Mesolite comes from Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, India. What makes this specimen so unique is the large size, the unique color of the Calcite and the Mesolite crystal inclusions which can be seen both on the interior and exterior of the specimen. These crystals were mined from a very limited discovery in late 2023.
Sometimes referred to as "Indian Rhodo" in allusion to it's color similarity to Rhodochrosite, or raspberry Calcite, the color is truly spectacular with highly saturated pinks and reds, contrasted with bright white Mesolite crystal starbursts.
The Mesolite crystals are concentrated to either side of the specimen with larger crystal clusters found along the edges. Internal rainbows can be seen throughout this specimen which has plenty of character along the front, back, and sides. There are even a few tiny Stilbite crystals near the one Mesolite crystal cluster!
