A beautiful mineral specimen of purple Amethyst from South Africa. The lovely lavender color of the crystals have concentrations of deeper purple hues mixed throughout. "Cactus quartz" is the name given to this variety of Amethyst, which describes the larger single points surrounded by a secondary growth of smaller amethyst crystals coating the sides. This variety of Amethyst is also sometimes referred to as "Spirit Quartz".
