Calcite Coated Turritella Fossil

A crystal coated fossilized cone of goodness! This Turritella fossil formed from sand and material getting inside the hollow gastropod shell and fossilizing. The harder outer shell dissolved away over time and the internal cast remained in tact. Naturally coated in tiny calcite crystal druze, this beautiful specimen is approximately 55 million years old and comes from Verona area in Italy.

Approx. 5.5" H x 2.5" W x 3.5" L
