Golden Calcite Septarian Concretion Slice

A crystalline explosion of golden Calcite and brown Aragonite crystals in a limestone matrix. The more angular cracks and cavity separations are called "septaria". Some refer to this golden calcite formation as a "septarian concretion". What is the difference between a geode and a concretion? Read more here! This specimen was collected and cut / sliced into a slab in southern Utah. The front of the piece has been cut and polished to a high gloss finish. The sides have been left in their natural state. Extra bonus: When exposed to a UV flashlight, this piece fluoresces!
