Copper with Quartz
This incredible Copper and Quartz specimen was found in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It features a striking band of bright orange Copper within a white Quartz seam.
Copper found in this region is mined in its natural state as "native copper" or as "float" copper which was moved and tumbled by glacial activities thousands of years ago. Copper is one of the few elements on our periodic table that crystallizes in its native form.
This bright and beautiful specimen has been cut, polished and coated in a protective lacquer to create a gorgeous display piece. It has a flat-cut base with a thin cork coating which allows it to self-stand perfectly.
