Olivine (Peridot) is a mineral that forms at some of the hottest temperatures inside our Earth. Extremely hot magma from deep within our Earth will rise to shallower depths and begin to cool. As it does so, vibrant green Olivine crystals are some of the first to crystallize out of this hot solution.
This stone was found in Washington state and cut thin to display the translucency of the peridot crystals inside. When backlit, it glows a lovely green color. Because of the thin cut this slice is delicate and should be handled with care.
