A lovely golden yellow Calcite concretion from Utah. This large specimen features sharply terminated Calcite crystals and dark brown Aragonite forming into angular cracks and cavity separations of the stone often called "septaria". This beautiful specimen formed from the concentration of golden calcite and brown aragonite in a gray limestone matrix. Some refer to this Golden Calcite formation as a "Septarian Concretion". The front and sides of the piece have been polished to a high gloss finish. The central crystal cavity and back have been left in their natural state. Besides the lovely nature of this specimen under regular light, when exposed to a UV flashlight, this piece fluoresces (see photos for details).
This specimen has a flat cut base allowing it to display beautifully without a stand.
