Labradorite

A rainbow of color flashes throughout this lovely Labradorite specimen from Madagascar. This stone is a variety of Plagioclase Feldspar that has an incredible natural iridescence often referred to as "schiller" or Labradorescence. This effect causes the stone to "flash" different colors when light is reflected at a certain angle. As you can see demonstrated in the photographs, when tilted at varying angles the stone displays a beautiful rainbow color flash of Labradorescence including blues, teals, golds, and purples. 

The entire specimen front and back has been polished to a high gloss finish. The specimen has a flat-cut base which allows it to stand freely on its own.
