- Description
Elongated blue blades of Kyanite crystals intermix with Quartz and Staurolite on this fun specimen from the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. Kyanite forms within metamorphic rocks undergoing high heats and pressures within the Earth. Kyanite's elongated crystal have a lovely metallic luster that shines when tilted in the light. The bright blue color of the Kyanite crystals are accented by clear Quartz mixed in with this specimen. Small root-beer colored Staurolite crystals can be seen at the base of the specimen.
