Megalodon Tooth

Feel the awesome power of an ancient predator in this Megalodon Shark Tooth from South Carolina, dating to approximately 5 million years old. The Megalodon is an extinct variety of shark that swam the seas up to 20 million years ago. It was considered an apex predator during its time, with size estimates for this creature ranging from 50 to 60 feet long! Teeth like these are often discovered washed up on the shoreline of the eastern United States, or in river beds along coastal communities.

This piece has a beautiful contrast of grays, light blues and earth tones and has been polished to a high gloss finish. Even after millions of years, you can still feel the serrated edges along the sides of the tooth!

Please Note: Megalodon teeth "height" are measured from the tip of the tooth, along the edge line to the base of the root (similar to a 45 degree angle). Approx. 4.9"H x 3.25"W x 1"D
