- Description
Beautiful blue crystals of Kyanite from the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. Kyanite forms within metamorphic rocks undergoing high heats and pressures within the Earth. Kyanite's elongated crystal blades have a lovely metallic luster that shines when tilted in the light. The bright blue color is accented by clear Quartz crystals which are often found associated with Kyanite. What makes this piece particularly unusual is that one of the crystal blades has been naturally bent by the folding and faulting of the host rock (see photo), creating a sweeping effect.
