Megalodon Tooth

Feel the power of the largest shark that ever swam the seas with this fossilized Megalodon Shark Tooth from the coastal Carolinas. This tooth dates to approximately 5 million years old. The Megalodon is an extinct variety of shark that lived approximately 20 million years ago. It was considered an apex predator during its time, with size estimates for this creature ranging from 50 to 60 feet long! Teeth like these are often discovered washed up on the shoreline of the eastern United States, or in river beds along coastal communities.

This piece has a lovely coffee and cream color. Natural serrations are very well defined on this piece and run along the edge of the tooth.

Please Note: Megalodon teeth "height" are measured from the tip of the tooth, along the edge line to the base of the root (similar to a 45 degree angle). Approx. 4"H x 2.75"W x 1.25"D
