This vibrant rainbow rock comes from the Dniester River region of Moldova. The colorful Calcite crystal cluster is coated with a sparkling layer of Chalcopyrite. Found in a private open-pit granite mine, the Calcite vein the miners were chasing occasionally opens into gorgeous crystal pockets like the one seen here.
The Calcite crystals have sharp terminations which are naturally coated in an incredible rainbow colored layer of Chalcopyrite. The glittery micro-crystalline Chalcopyrite has an array of colors including golds, greens, pinks, teals and purples that have a fascinating shine.
When viewed under ultraviolet (UV) light, this specimen glows a bright pinkish orange color.
Approx. 2.6" L x 2" H x 1.25" Deep
